Gina credits her interest in studying and creating art to her grandparents, who are both studio artists in Japan. Although they don't speak the same language, her grandparents taught her to paint from a young age through their patient demonstration and encouragement. As a result, she's particularly fascinated by the intersection of language and visual art in communication.
She graduated from Santa Clara University with a major in English and Studio Art, and a minor in Art History. While studying abroad in London, she interned with the curatorial and collections department at the National Army Museum. Back in California she also served as a docent at the de Saisset Museum and volunteered in local elementary schools.
Gina is passionate about arts education, early childhood education, museum development, storytelling, painting, and traveling.
